Lunch & Learn Rewind: Take Advantage of Holiday Time ~ Share Photo & Video Memories Using Airplay and Chromecast Over Your TV

In our December 15, Lunch & Learn we shared tips and tricks on mirroring your device to a TV as part of our virtual event. Although our lunch and learn events are not recorded, we decided to make a special video recap so that families could learn just how to share their photos and videos using the built-in Airplay technology that many Smart TVs have. Thanks to leading television manufacturers, there are numerous Smart TVs on the market including Sony, Samsung, Vizio, LG, and various Roku televisions. The great hidden gem in these televisions is they are compatible to work with Apple’s Airplay 2 technology without the need for a seperate Apple TV). With the holidays coming up, we know that this could be extremely useful for small gatherings with family and friends.

In the video, we also share how users can connect their mobile devices wirelessly, using a Roku Express or a Google Chromecast. These devices can be attached to televisions that are not Smart enabled using an HDMI cable, allowing you to seamlessly stream content from your phones and tablets. It is a simple configuration, making your television have the same capabilities of a Smart TV, without the added pricetag. Whether you are using Airplay with your iPhone, casting your Android device, or streaming your favorite holiday movie, this information is sure to help your family draw closer during this time with extra snuggles on the couch. This holiday season especially, our families loved sitting in the same room together, reminiscing on times gone by while sharing photo and video memories through from their phones to a TV that everyone could see. We shared these tips with a veteran client in his eighties. While he was visiting with family he was able to take a walk down memory lane, sharing old black and white pictures on the TV that he had saved in the photo gallery on his phone.

We know that everyone’s televisions might be a little different, so as always feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions.
